Flying an army chopper back to Quito, I checked on the intact enemy ships before rescuing a guerilla soldier from a lone Vanguard. After grabbing a nearby supply drop for upgrade materials, I flew to an unvisited tower, climbed up, and looted an FND crate for a chest gear item.
I decided to fly back toward the big ships we tried to destroy before we escaped to set up our headquarters on Libertad Island.
While flying, I tried unleashing supremo from inside the chopper cockpit, only to realize it was just the helicopter's flare system designed to protect against incoming missiles.
Looking down from above, I saw both ships were still sitting in the water, looking completely intact. But I remember creating havoc on them not long back.
I reached Quito shortly after, taking in the view of the open waters. Both ships were still floating there, but there were no longer any of Castillo's soldiers standing guard on the decks.
Since the area was no longer marked as a restricted zone, I decided to explore the spots I was too scared to check out earlier in the story. Flying lower, I spotted a lone Vanguard torturing a guerilla fighter on the ground.
I opened fire with the chopper's machine gun until the ammo ran out, then launched a rocket straight at the guard to finish him off.
I assumed the explosion killed the guerilla too, but as I landed the chopper nearby, I saw he was still breathing. The Vanguard had raised a metal shield right before the rocket hit, which blocked the blast and saved the prisoner while completely tearing the guard to pieces.
I ran over and untied the guerilla before the surrounding fire reached him.
Just as I freed him, I spotted a supply drop falling from the sky nearby. Red markers appeared on my map, showing enemy forces moving in to claim the crate. I sprinted over, grabbed the loot before the soldiers arrived, and collected gunpowder and a Supremo bond from the drop.
Getting back into chopper, I took off again to explore the rest of the region. As I flew over a section of the map I had never visited before, I spotted an FND crate on top of a tower.
Knowing I might not come back to this area later, I landed the chopper in a nearby opening and walked over to the structure. I climbed the ladders up to the top platform, opened the crate, and picked up a gear from the cache.
Looking around from the high ground, I saw guerilla flags flying across the surrounding land, confirming the area should be fully cleared of enemies.
How about we continue in another post?
Thanks for reading my post.
