This is the final version and as you can see - I fought and won a war with that brown .. :D
This is done on Canson hot press I think - I lost the cover so have no idea but it feels like hot press but less forgiving.
Watercolor used is Gansi Tambi Kuratake -- you know the one in a green box -halfway switched to Lukas/Grumbacher because Gansi is ..well.. opaque and I do not like working with opaque colors much.
Doing watercolor is a ceremony - at least for me . My setup is downstairs and I always need a bulk of time to go sit there and work on the watercolors. Pencils ,pastels , digital they are much less demanding because they just sit there and while going back and forth , there would be a stroke here and a stroke there .
This is far from done - the background needs work. I am not sure why I jumped on the leaf- because it is so bright and inviting I guess. Now I will have to mask it and work on the background. That brown looks awful .
May be in a week or two I will get another hours of work in and possibly finish ?
