I made thumbnails of the ideas I had for the prompt, before settling for one I was comfortable with. So far, it’s the first prompt I absolutely enjoyed painting as every brush stroke felt like a new discovery!

I sketched a few thumbnails. From left to right:
a. A boy with the reflection of a fan on his face
b. A little girl making funny noises with the fan
c. A room with a strong breeze coming in through the window
d. A lady masking her face with a handfan
e. A fashion illustration various hand fans made into a dress

I settled for C. It was enjoyable as I wasn’t sure I was going to properly render a sketch of a living space which came from my mind. I painted from dark to light then back to dark before arriving at the final results.
