Banana trees make amazing subject matters. A number of people in my neighborhood have at least 3 clusters of banana trees in around their homes, and believe it or not, when the bananas get ripe, and are plucked and fried, it tastes amazing. Last year a took a few pictures of some banana leaves, see them at the end of this post. The idea for this drawing appeared so clearly in mind, glad I was able to draw it as is!
Process!
I made use of a 0.7 Staedtler mechanical pencil (I got a refill ; ), and my Sinoart sketchbook
I started off by drawing the character, I drew the first arc to indicate that she was bent over something, it looked pretty funny lol. I’ve been studying books on anatomy so I pictured what I’d learnt and continued drawing. I was super happy that I could pull off such a pose. I guess I’m improving! The next step was drawing the plants and lastly shading!
