Thank you! I'm a laymen when it comes to birds... However, I am certain its a Western Seagull (Larus occidentalis). Too large for a sandpiper and definitely not a sanderlings and not a Brown Pelican. What's unique is that its flying south and they always fly towards the sunset (to where they roust).
