I think your dream reflects the current social norms of today, where how people feel about something is more important than the facts or the truth. While graphic, your dream isn't all that weird given how close you are to the bleeding edge of technology and social reform. I generally tend to keep my outlook of the future to myself in real life, mostly because it takes a huge leap of faith for most people to accept that their life is going to be radically different in 10 years time, just like we look back at the world before the internet and it seems like an alternate universe that we lived in. The coming total loss of privacy on every level is frightening and angering to probably 50% of people, and they might just be crazy enough to fight over it in the literal sense, especially if they're technology rich and financially broke, not to mention a debt slave for life, along with their children and grandchildren.
