Archmage Update: A Smoother Start After the Daily Reset

Greetings, Battle Mages!

Splinterlands resets everyone's daily progress at the same moment, 00:00 UTC. Many of you use the "Daily max" setting, so your accounts pause when they reach their wins for the day and wait for that reset.

Until now, all of those accounts started again in the same few minutes after the reset, and then played back to back for several hours. This was the busiest part of the whole day.

What changes

Accounts that use "Daily max" now spread their matches out after the reset, instead of playing them all at once.

  • Your account still plays its first match right after the reset if its energy is full.
  • After that, its matches are spaced out over the following hours.
  • Your account will usually reach its daily goal a few hours later than before.

Why this is better for you

  • More room for every match. When many accounts play in the same hour, they all compete for the same resources. Spread out, every team search has the room it needs.
  • Fewer matches in the slowest minutes. The game itself is often slow right after the daily reset. Fewer of your matches now start in that window.
  • Fewer Archmage players searching at the same moment. This makes it less likely that you are matched against another Archmage player.

What stays the same

  • The same number of matches. Spreading changes when your account plays, not how much it plays.
  • No wasted energy. If your energy is full, your account plays.
  • Your settings. Nothing in your settings has changed. "Frequency" is still the most your account will play in one hour. After the reset it may play less often than that, never more.
  • Accounts without "Daily max" play as before. Survival is not affected.

When will my account play?

Your match times now follow a plan made for each account, not a fixed clock. This means you cannot predict the exact minute from the time of day any more. You can still see what is happening:

  • On the website, the Battle Schedule in Settings shows when your account's next battle is planned, in your own time zone.
  • In our Discord, use /schedule with your account name to see the same thing.
  • The My Account page shows today's wins and your progress toward your daily goal.

Do you need to do anything?

No. Your accounts keep playing as normal.

Chapter X · The Second Book
At dawn the battle mages came to the ruin all at once, and the narrow forest path was so crowded that half of them arrived late and tired. The Archmage watched from the tower and said nothing. That evening he wrote a long list by candlelight, one name to each hour of the morning. "Everyone will still come," he told Wren, "only no longer in each other's way." While he worked, Wren tidied the shelf behind him. Between two battle-books she found a third, bound in dark leather. Every page was written in brown ink.
