An eternity of falling
with no hope or longing,
has left me emotionless
fearless and ruthless.

The void is still there,
in the core of my being,
It's too late to shift gears,
there's no point in fleeing.

I can't remember what anything
feels like, I'm numb it's true,
and I would give anything
to get rid of this sole feeling blue.

Because I know what I've done
and I know there's no way out
but still I hold on tight to my gun
and fight my way through this drought.

I can hear them call out my name
from here till the edge of infinity,
I must answer, and end this game
I must transcend, and achieve divinity.

The path I follow leads me to the mountains deep
and I can't turn back now, it is mine to keep.

So I press on with no end in sight, or hope
because sometimes no hope means all the hope.

My destiny is the summit of this mountain of perils
there awaits me my throne, and an eternal revel.

There lies the cure of this void dark,
the only thing that can erase
from the very core of my being
all the black marks.
