Everyone has heartfelt desires. For some, they are easily available but for others they aren't.
The story explained below is one of the similiar kind where ego, anger and expectations lead a boy to a life full of regrets. How? Let's read!
The Story
Once upon a time, there was a young man who was going to get graduated from college very soon. He always had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom on his way home and he knew that his father could well afford it, so he had told him about his desires.
As the Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited for the signs that his father had purchased the car. So, finally his father called him into his private study room and wished him in his successfully graduation and told him how proud he was of his son.
After thanking his father, the boy was so excited for the gift as he was expecting the keys of that sports car desired and had already mentioned to his father. His, father finally hugged him and handed over a gift box to him. A beautifully wrapped gift box it was!
The boy was so curious, as he open the box he found a loveky leather-bound in it. The young man was somewhat disappointed so angrily he raised his voice at his father and said;
"With all your money you give me a Bible?"
After shouting, he stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book aside.
Days, months and years passed the young man never looked back he was very successful in his business. He had a beautiful home and a wonderful family, but one day he realized that his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should visit him. The boy had not seen him since that graduation day. So, before he could make any arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son.
Very disappointed and sad , the boy rushed to hai father's home where he reached very soon with his heart full of regrets and astonishment.
Quickly, he began to search for his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation and the words "PAID IN FULL."
The above story explains that we always disregard God's blessings and desire for more. We often forget the fact that there are many other people who are not that privelledged like we are. We should be thankful to God in all cases and try to count his limitless blessings before it's too late.
Sometimes God's blessings doesn't arrive in a package as we expected but it comes with greater sense of contentment and joy that we have ever wished for. Think about it and act!
