Here's an image I produced, inspired by the climate of Igloolik, Nunavut. Located in arctic Canada, Igloolik experiences what I from southern Canada would consider harsh conditions. There is a long period of darkness in the winter, and a long period of perpetual sun during the summer. In this circular calendar, I've represented the hours of light and darkness as yellow and dark blue bands in the wheel. I've also shown the sea ice formation and break-up, lunar cycles, and the traditional Inuit seasons based on a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Can you feel the cold?
