I recently noticed that the Korean community is very active on Steemit. My first impression was confirmed when @clayop asked me to create some statistics similar to the daily stats I publish for Steemit (check my blog), but aimed solely at the Korean authors
Fasten your seat belt and be ready to see impressive numbers !
Preliminary note
As I cannot (accurately) identify user's country based on information stored in the account properties, my selection is based on the tags they used for posting. Any user having used the #kr tag (either as main or secondary tag) has been taken into account as a "Korean author/user" to build these stats.
1. New users
This chart shows the number of newly registered users on Steemit. Unfortunately, it does not include Korean people who registered an account but never posted or commented (I think of curator or investor only accounts, if any).
This graph shows the total number of registered accounts who made at least one post or comment. Steady growth ... steady growth ...
2. Active users
These graphs show the activity of users over time and in more details for the last 30 days.
Have a look at it ... more than half the registered users are active.
The second chart may seem weird, because there are active users when no authors appears below. I interpret this as being the fact that the Korean users, although they already created their account and were already active on Steemit, have been waiting a bit before you starting to publish using the #kr tag.
Both Active curators and Active unique users overlap, meaning that none of them ignore the usefulness of curation.
3. Post and comments
These graphs show the evolution of posts and comments for the for the last 30 days and the whole blockchain lifetime.
Yes, that's where the growth is the more impressive as, within less than a month, the number of authors has quadrupled !
4. Curation
These graphs show the evolution of curation (upvotes) for the whole blockchain lifetime and for the last 30 days. Once again we can see a constant and steady growth.
5. Distribution
This graph shows the distribution of the voting power. The korean community a a rather good distribution of the voting power among its members, at least better than the whole Steemit userbase distribution.
This graph shows the distribution of the reputation among users. Accounts with a reputation lower than 25 have been removed to keep the graph readable.
The distribution of the reputation is rather high in the Korean community, which confirms that it is a very active community.
Conclusion
As you can see, the Korean community is growing fast and their users are very engaged in the platform activity. It is definitely a major asset for the development of Steemit and a valuable aid to spread in the asian part of the world.
I hope these stats will be of interest to you and to my Korean friends.
The funny thing is that, as from now, I will be included in the next stats because I used the #kr tag for my post. I think I should start to learn Korean right now! :D
Thanks for reading.
