[ENG/ITA] Trying to Be More Than "Only" a Gamer / Un Giocatore Sì, ma Non Solo

Having almost completed upgrading my Rewards set card collection to the maximum level for the Silver League, it's now time to take to the next step my upgrades.

As I have said several times over the past months, my goal is to be able to play consistently in the Gold League using only cards I own, without having to resort to renting or "borrowing" them through platforms such as NFTy Arcade.

My attitude has, in fact, always been that of a gamer, and not of an investor: I enjoy playing and trying to become more competitive, but I do not have the slightest ability in the management of my collection, not at least beyond just buying and selling a few random cards every now and then, perhaps, indeed, with the purpose to remove a card that I find "weak" and replace it with a stronger or more useful one.

This doesn't stop me from taking inspiration from one of the best users of Hive, the pride of the Italian community @libertycrypto27, as I try every now and then to give at least a little sense to what I do and to set alongside my ingame goals also some, we could say, financial goals.

If there's one thing I've learned from Liberty it's that the first step toward trying to grow your collection in an organic and meaningful way is to set goals and then ask yourself: what do I need to achieve them? And what, on the other hand, I do not need?

These two apparently almost obvious and trivial questions actually embody the heart of any investment plan: focus on what you need to grow and get rid of what you don't need so that you can release new resources and be able to carry on this cycle for as long as possible.

It's precisely by relying on this logic that I finally decided a few weeks ago to sell some of the cards in the Rewards set that I wasn't using and use the resulting revenue to upgrade all the ones I kept.

And it's relying on the same logic that today I have resolved to also start selling all those cards from the Chaos Legion set that I currently hold at a level too low to be useful in battle: of course getting rid of cards that have cost me commitment and effort to acquire has a bitter aftertaste... but no result can be achieved without sacrifice and, in this case, the reward is the chance to get a little closer to my ultimate goal.

Of course, it is still too early to evaluate how far this operation I have started will push my collection: the truth is that I don't own many cards and that I need many of the ones I own, so I don't think I will be able to make that much money from selling the cards I don't use.

I believe, however, that what matters the most is the end result, not so much at least, but the fact that I have stepped out of my comfort zone and I am trying to raise my way of playing: in the realm of Play2Earn trying to be a " wise " gamer can bring a lot of rewards, as well as being a step, in my opinion, almost vital in a world where the assets we play with are literally ours and, therefore, it's worth trying to become a good manager of them!

Dopo aver praticamente completato il potenziamento fino al livello massimo per la Lega Argento della mia collezione di carte del set Rewards, è ormai giunto il momento di fare il prossimo passo per il potenziamento delle carte a mia disposizione.

Come ho detto varie volte da diversi mesi a questa parte, il mio obiettivo è riuscire a giocare stabilmente nella Lega Oro utilizzando carte di proprietà, e quindi senza dover ricorrere al noleggio o al "prestito" tramite piattaforme come NFTy Arcade.

Da sempre, infatti, il mio spirito è sempre e solo stato quello del gamer, e non dell'investitore: mi piace giocare e cercare di diventare più competitivo, ma non ho la benchè minima capacità in ambito di gestione della mia collezione, non almeno al di là del semplice acquistare e vendere qualche carta a caso ogni tanto, magari, appunto, con l'intento di togliere una carta che reputo "debole" e sostituirla con una più forte o utile.

Ciò non toglie che, prendendo ispirazione da uno dei migliori utenti di Hive, l'orgoglio della community italiana @libertycrypto27, cerco ogni tanto di dare almeno un minimo di senso a quello che faccio e di pormi accanto ai miei obiettivi ingame anche degli obiettivi, potremmo dire, finanziari.

Se c'è una cosa che ho imparato da Liberty è, infatti, che il primo passo per cercare di accrescere in maniera organica e sensata la propria collezione è quello di porsi degli obiettivi e poi chiedersi: cosa mi serve per raggiungerli? E di cosa, invece, posso fare a meno?

Queste due domande, apparentemente quasi ovvie e banali, racchiudono in realtà il cuore di ogni progetto di investimento: punta su ciò che ti è utile per crescere e liberati di ciò che non ti serve, così da sbloccare nuove risorse e poter continuare questo ciclo il più a lungo possibile.

E' proprio affidandomi a questa logica che, finalmente, mi sono deciso qualche settimana fa a vendere una parte delle carte del set Rewards che non utilizzavo e a sfruttarne il ricavato per potenziare tutte quelle che ho tenuto, portandole ad un livello utilizzabile alla Lega Oro.

Ed è basandomi sulla stessa logica che oggi ho deciso di cominciare a vendere anche tutte quelle carte del set Chaos Legion che attualmente possiedo ad un livello troppo basso perchè possano tornarmi utili in battaglia: naturalmente liberarsi di carte che mi è costato impegno e fatica ottenere ha un retrogusto amaro... ma nessun risultato si raggiunge senza sacrifici e, in questo caso, il premio è la possibilità di avvicinarmi ancora un po' al mio obiettivo finale.

Ovviamente è ancora troppo presto per valutare fin dove potrà spingere la mia collezione questa operazione che ho intrapreso: la verità è che non possiedo molte carte e che molte di quelle che possiedo mi servono, per cui non credo che riuscirò a ricavare chissà che cifre dalla vendita delle carte che non uso.

Penso però che quello che conti, in tutto ciò, non sia tanto il risultato finale, quanto il fatto che sia uscito dalla mia comfort zone e stia cercando di elevare il mio modo di giocare: nel campo dei Play2Earn puntare ad essere un gamer "consapevole" può regalare molte soddisfazioni, oltre ad essere uno step, a mio avviso, quasi fondamentale in un mondo in cui gli assets con cui giochiamo sono letteralmente nostri e, pertanto, vale la pena cercare di diventarne dei bravi amministratori!
