Once I had a conversation with a cop in a bar in a somewhat relaxed setting (though he continued being a cop even there, drinking one beer for the whole hour and automatically watching everyone around)...

And he told me that many guys go into the police for good reasons and their initial intention truly is to serve and protect... But due to peer pressure, certain job aspects, and maybe some inner hidden inclinations they become more and more power-driven and even psychotic over time

And this was coming from a person who was one of them himself :/

In Russia it is even worse than here now - police is ordered to stop citizens and check them randomly when they dare to go outside for whatever reason, even if they are alone and there is social distance

I think if I were a police woman and I got the order to stop and question people on the streets because they are just walking around or not wearing masks, I would quit my job

I don’t understand how people can continue being police officers and go along with these ridiculous unconstitutional and simply enslaving orders
