Looking at the current situation in Syria and Lebanon a member of Quora, the wiki Q & A social platform asked this question: With the war in Syria winding down, and relative peace between Israel and Hezbollah, could there soon be an opening for engagement with Iran?
From the way I see it, I left my reply there which I'm copying here to preserve it from Quora's heavy censorship and also to share the info with the readers of this platform and getting their feedback. I do see things from my perspective being from the region and especially Syrian and especially following the news closely from all available sources including family members.
Israeli forces hiding behind a tall wall at the borders
So this is what I wrote as a reply to the above question on Quora:
Israel is an existential threat, it cannot survive without wars and inflicting damages all around and beyond. It’s an existential threat to itself mainly being created against the teachings of the Torah which it bases its foundation on…! Then all its acts do not promise any peace not now and not in any foreseen future.
The fact that the idea to create a homeland to gather unrelated people over the land of other people was bad from the beginning and was meant to sow wars and instability, not peace and definitely not stability. That’s why you find the ‘founding fathers’ of Israel were all head terrorists from terrorist organizations like Lehi, Irgun, Stern, and the Haganah, that produced the likes of Shamir, Sharon, and almost every leader of them.
The US-led World War of Terror waged on Syria was only to secure Israel by weakening the national army of Syria, similarly to the invading of Iraq and the first thing the occupiers did was dissolve the Iraqi Army, like the Saudi war against Yemen, the US, UK, and French invasion of Libya, and their constant threats against Iran, the strangling of Egypt by destroying its ability to produce wheat, the main food item in the country, in exchange for peace with Israel.
The US never thought having spent all that money, time, efforts, diplomatic pressure and even dropping the masks off, and despite all those massacres committed in order to destroy Syria and subdue the country, that Syria would not be broken, it might be destroyed, but not broken. On the contrary, think of the saying: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, that’s exactly what happened in Syria, the current war with all the toll it took on the Syrians, it cleaned the country from the corrupt western-leaned officials, turned the economy into a war-ready and capable economy instead of the consumer economy it was heading towards, and now ripe for rebuilding with the real capable countries ready to invest any amount there without the need of the likes of the World Bank, IMF, or western bankrupt countries offering aid in exchange of surrendering.
So as far as Syria is concerned, it’s the only country in the region that: 1. has nothing (further) to lose in an event of a conflict, compared with all the others, 2. its people are accustomed to war times, 3. and most importantly its national army is the the only armed forces in the region and beyond that is battle-hardened fighting over 40 fronts on daily bases for 9 continuous years (that’s double the years of the WWII) and is winning battle after the other against suicide terrorists who any one of them can lock down an entire western city like what we saw post Boston Marathon and the in the French case.
Israel is aware of that, and is worried and it must be. Its army in the latest tiny confrontation with the small Lebanese Hezb Allah party left the entire northern borders and hid far south for a complete week when Hezb’s leader vowed to retaliation the Netanyahu stunt, the Israeli forces even abandoned their military bases and the correspondent of RT went inside the base freely.
Those forces fearing Hezb Allah alone, and are still occupying Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian lands with their leaders bombing all around using US weapons, can only expect a retaliation at any time suitable by the Syrians, Hezb Allah fighters, or the Palestinians, now add to the equation the constant Israeli threats against Iran and its work to destabilize that country and the assassinations of Iranian scientists by the Israeli Mossad, and the continuous bragging of Israeli officials they’re bombing Iranian bases in Syria (a lie as they’re bombing Syrian Army bases with some Iranian attache’s in it), Iran is not letting that go as if nothing happened.
There is a war, it will be very big, it takes an Israeli fool to spark it, or when the Syrians decide it’s the right time, and it will definitely not be in the favor of the Israelis due to the crimes they’ve been committing since they were imported to the land of others, over a century ago.
