There are few things you don't know therefore will give you a pass on this, first of all, we never claimed we're a perfect democracy, unlike the USA, for instance, which keeps exporting its surplus of democracy worldwide like to Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Vietnam, Iraq.. an excellent track one must admit, while at home half of the population say their elections are rigged and the wrong guy won, not the first time, and even in the current system it's only 2 parties competing for the same goals of serving the lobbyists while their people are going from down to further under. Or the UK for that matter, which never had a real election, I don't recall anybody elected the queen or her father before except they killed more grandparents of the current population than the others did that's how they become absolute owners of the fiefdom, and please don't mention the farce of a constitutional monarchy, that's utter rubbish.

Second, have you seen the outpour of people heading to the poll station rallying for Assad in every single city that is not controlled by Al Qaeda? Forget inside Syria, what about in Lebanon, Australia, France, or Latin American countries? Germany banned the Syrians there from voting so did Turkey, very democratic, right?

Third, I guess you forgot that he didn't flee the country and led the army to liberate one city after the other and if it wasn't for the US army's illegal presence and the Turkish army's presence and in order to avert a global confrontation nobody needs, the whole country would've been liberated within weeks, that earned the support of his people as he didn't let them down and he lost members of his family and friends in this fight and he's constantly being threatened even by Trump who openly considered killing him and his family.

Syria is an old civilization and the people respect the elders, we cannot afford an absolute democracy, to that matter nobody should have an absolute democracy, the USA itself is a republic and was not meant to be a democracy, in a democracy 6 idiots can rule over the 10. In the rural regions of Syria, whatever the elders say the rest follow, the elders decide to support Assad, everyone vote for him with no exceptions, that's how he gets such high voiced, besides, the two other candidates congratulated him without any objection and the international observers confirmed there are no serious violations to be reported.

So you can either accept that the US and its NATO allies lost in Syria or continue supporting the genocide, but now at much higher costs to the aggressors.
