Thanks for the comment @ackza, two parts in your comment: Turkey is still part of NATO and been reminded of that constantly when they want it to oblige to their demands, only.
Second part: it's true, when Turkey needs their help they'll not provide it, but good luck in telling that to the Turks who even changed their alphabet to a Latin taking off their cloth and wishing they'll become Europeans one day, no idea why..

BTW, the article linked above has many lessons from history for the Turks by a Turkish journalist and most of them showing how the Turks plotted against their neighbors and especially against Russia for cheap.
