В моєму дачному будинку пічне опалення. Але пічка обігріває лише перший поверх, а на мансардному поверсі взимку холодно. На мансардний поверх ведуть дерев’яні сходи і через той отвір виходить велика частина тепла.
Минулих зим я видумував різні хитрі способи, щоб закрити цей отвір. І покривало вішав, і пінопластом закривав, каримат підвішував, ще й скотчем проклеював по периметру. Але все це були дуже не надійні конструкції, а ще коти дуже швидко знаходили якусь шпаринку, щоб потрапити на другий поверх, а для них моя конструкція не перепона. Тому я вже давно збирався зробити на сходах двері, щоб перекрити доступ холодного повітря з мансардного поверху. І хотілось, щоб було більш-менш естетично і , нарешті , щоб не завішувати сходи різноманітними ганчірками. До того ж коти двері не зможуть відкрити, тому більше не потрібно буде після них латати дірки.

And I wanted it to be more or less aesthetic and, finally, not to cover the stairs with various rags. In addition, cats will not be able to open the door, so there will be no need to patch holes after them.

А ще довелось працювати в тісноті і темноті, бо сходи - не найкраще місце для відповідальної роботи. А настільною лампою я перестав користуватись після того, як згоріла чергова лампочка від постійного падання лампи зі сходів. Робота зроблена, двері і відкриваються і закриваються. Надіюсь, що зможу в цьому сезоні зекономити якийсь куб дров.
