Interesting post re Jevon's Paradox, but I'm not sure how idiocy like "Net Zero" got into it.

Energy usage is the basis and measure of civilisation: The Kardashev Scale.

Civilisations that try to limit energy usage will fall behind and die. This is playing out in real time. Europe is committing economic suicide by trying to follow this "Net Zero" cult, while China just laughs at them and the US powers ahead.

Ironically Europe will achieve Net Zero because of a basic failure to breed.

Net Zero = Extinct Civilisation.
