In the West you get censored and jailed for criticising the ever expanding and more and more ludicrous woke globalist agenda, in Russia for criticising Putin and the Ukraine War.
I know which one is simpler to deal with and keep out of trouble while living a normal life.
Wartime restrictions on freedom of speech are commonly used in the West too.
I'm not sure that either side is any worse than the other in this respect.
