A friend of mine passed away recently, he was one of the rare few beautiful souls who was brave enough to consistently and passionately speak out against some of the most ruthless and corrupt people in the world. (The military industrial complex)
He was only around 20 years older than me and I couldn't find much info other than it seems like he died suddenly in his sleep... I can't help but wonder if there was something nefarious going on because he was so incredibly vocal and outspoken? I mean... Probably not? But, I can't help but wonder.
My friend was an amazing soul, so full of heart and he will be missed. In honor of him I wanted to express a few thoughts on the state of the world that I imagine he would probably agree with or at least empathize and understand where I'm coming from when I say such.
It's interesting in my opinion how many seemingly otherwise "good" or decent people could care less about their governments mass murdering millions of people...
So many celebrate the troops in a broad generalized manner when some of those troops do some of the worst things like rape, torture, murder and even things like cutting off body parts to create "trophies".
Here's an excerpt of what some of your troops do.
"The soldier, Specialist James Barker, also agreed to testify against three other accused soldiers. He agreed to the plea in return for a guarantee that he would not face the death penalty, his lawyers said.
The murders took place on March 12 in Mahmoudiya, 20 miles south of Baghdad. Prosecutors allege that five soldiers stationed at a checkpoint there raped the girl, Abeer Qassim al-Janabi, then burned her body to hide the evidence, and killed her father, mother and six-year-old sister."
This is what happens in pretty much all wars, so why do many celebrate such? Count me out. No amount of anything material will ever justify such atrocity. You can't bribe me in such ways.
Speaking of such... It's almost as if many people are being bribed with a nice 1st world lifestyle to the point that they are trading their own voice, heart and sense of right and wrong in order to have some nice things in this physical and material world, but... there's another world. A spiritual world that can't be seen with the eyes and no amount of entertainment and comfortable living is the worth slaughtering millions of innocent people let alone one single man, woman or child.
I'm reminded of Cypher from the Matrix who betrayed everyone so he could live in illusion and eat his bloody steak.
It's kind of like this mentality of "Hey as long as it's not happening to you, who cares right?".
And then there are many I think also who are just too scared or who don't know what to do so they don't really try to do anything even speak out about it. There's likely other reasons as well as things aren't typically so black and white, the result though is still what has been happening regardless of motivation or the lack of such.
Let's not forget that the United States itself is essentially built on top of the slaughter of the natives who lived here originally.
Some researchers estimate that our "founding" was part of the largest genocide in history with close to 100 million massacred in the western hemisphere and around 12 million within present US geographical boundaries.
Our very founding was built on the corpses of innocent people and mired in their slaughter and we continue to mass murder innocent people to this day while the majority of people do not seem to care enough to even speak out or try to change things in any significant way.
Ignoring all this stuff won't make it go away. The only thing that will likely help is if people in mass start caring more and genuinely loving themselves and everyone else.
What has happened and continues to happen can only happen due to ignorance/negligence and a widespread and a severe lack of love and compassion.
