Hello to anyone who may happen to see this. I hope your day is going good. I'm back with another spoken word poem song thingy.
This one is dedicated to the only woman that I've been romantically in love with who ever said Happy Valentine's day to me.
It isn't that long and I wrote the actual poem a long time ago when I wasn't very good at poetry yet.
However, it's one of my most meaningful and important poems because I wrote this one to Amanda as a birthday present to her.
Unfortunately I don't know if she ever got to read it...
I did tell her I sent it to her email and she seemed to be having difficulty finding it. And then...
This song wasn't meant to necessarily be a love song as I didn't want to come on too strong too fast and was just sort of a "nice" poem for a friend.
I was and still am in love with her and it was in my mind kind of like a love letter, however, I didn't want it to come across that way at the time and just wanted to give a nice friendly gift.
Now to me it feels like one of the most profound love letters I ever made, even though I didn't really intend it to be like that at the time.
Anyways... I hope you appreciate the piece and I just want to remind everyone I'm not a singer or any kind of experienced vocalist.
I'm just expressing myself as I go and I hope to learn to sing or rap or perform vocally in other ways more in the future, yet, for now I'm just doing regular spoken word and I realize it may not sound good for some people who expect a high level of quality.
I didn't want this one to have too much of a sad or a happy vibe to it, I wanted it somewhere in the middle and I think I used a good song for that, I like the nature sounds in it especially. Outgoing Hikikomori is an amazing musician in my opinion.
Also, I found there's a part near the end where it sounds like I sort of blew into the mic a lil too much, but, I don't remember that in the original recording and this isn't a professional job anyways.
When I performed this particular poem I felt a weird energy, like I was performing it directly to Amanda and I am pretty sure I can't replicate that feeling again... So I don't want to try to go back and change it.
Will put the lyrics below and also a link to the audio if you'd like to listen.
And... That's it for me for now. Thank you if you listen to the spoken word or read the poem. Peace.
"Protectively Aware."
Surrounded by nature.
Such colorfully painted skies.
What an intelligent creator discovering.
Truth through the most beautiful of eyes.
Thousands of reasons to smile.
Hundreds to admire.
And none to forget.
Wandering miles.
Without tire.
Sometimes just to see the sunset.
Nothing else is required.
Unconditionally concerned.
No need to rewire.
Remembering what was learned.
Reviving fires worth trying for.
Passions speaking to be heard.
Optimistically wealthy thanks to the desire.
The desire to touch, hear and see the beauty of words.
