The blues is passion.
The blues is madness.
The blues is freedom.
And the Blues Brothers are the paradigm of these three things.

Jake and Elwood stop at nothing or anyone, not even the immovable laws of physics.

If a building collapses on top of them, they emerge unscathed through the rubble, dusting off their suits.

If the police lock them up in a highway chase, they jump over squad cars, including a pirouette to the delight of the staff. And neither of them will make a single comment on these extraordinary events.

Is this the best musical comedy of all time? It is? Or does it seem that way to me? It may not be the best, but it is the only one where you can find a festival of:

-Legends of soul and rhythm & blues.
-Crazy chases.
-Flying gadgets.
-White and absurd humor.
-Fun and rhythm.

Let's go with the music. The first and unquestionable, the soundtrack; "Everybody Needs Somebody" or "Jailhouse Rock" are just two of the many great songs that sound on the tape. Related to the soundtrack worthy of mention are the appearances of the stars of the stature of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker that serve to justify the label of cult film that The Blues Brothers acquires.

Numerous scenes border on absurdity and that encourages the comic side of the work to acquire a great prominence making it easy to see. This resource is increased in the chase scene where all the police cars are not able to hunt down the Blues brothers. The unknown woman who tries to murder them again and again is another clear example of this; Furthermore, the viewer does not get to know the function of that element in the film until the end, so the intrigue is also part of the film.

For all this and many more, The Blues Brothers becomes an indispensable film for all moviegoers, ideal to watch those rainy Sunday afternoons while the hangover takes over your body.
