This is my application for the contest Reflection Hunters Contest ~ Round 135 Announcement 🎺! by @olgavita
Yesterday I took an evening walk along the city embankment and saw an amazing picture: there was a large puddle in front of the stairs to the river and water was flowing down the stairs. Where did the water come from? I don't know. There should be no urban communications here.
My walk began from the place where a wooden church stood last year. She burned down last November. The governor of the region made a statement that he would help restore the church as soon as possible and that work on the construction of a new brick structure would begin in the summer. But a year passed and nothing happened.
This stone was installed in memory of the repressed residents of our region during the Stalinist rule. Sometimes there are fresh flowers in this place. In previous years, on significant days, people gathered at this stone to remember the victims of Stalin's despotism. But since the pandemic, people have been banned from gathering. The circle of history has closed.
I wanted to go down the stairs to the very bank of the river, but I saw that the passage was closed and the stairs were damaged. In the evening, I studied the local news sites and realized that the path through this staircase had been closed for a long time. And it looks like no one will repair the stairs this year.
Next year our city officially turns 650 years old. By this date, large restoration works are being carried out in the city, the federal government has allocated funds for this. This staircase is repaired every year after big summer showers. But some invisible force decided to ruin the staircase completely.
I couldn't get down to the river. This could still be done on the road that runs through the ravine under the suicide bridge, but for this, it was necessary to walk almost a kilometer.
I was not ready for this, my path lay further along the embankment.
I have a girl classmate who practically does not know the city of Kirov. She likes to go on excursions to other cities to see churches there, but she doesn't know any churches in Kirov. So during this walk, I sent her photos. By the way, I suggested that she come to town and get to know him.
The main regional cathedral. The residence of the local supreme church administrator is located here.
I walk past this church very often, but this is the first time I have looked at it from this angle. I usually come from the other side of the church, from the front side. I did all this for the sake of a girl classmate.
I hope you enjoyed my walk and my hunt for reflections, my friends.
I added my beloved @archon community as a 5% beneficiary of the post.
