Frost and Sun (8 pics)

It seems that the first wave of the great cold has receded from us. The temperature has been below -30 degrees for 4 days. This morning I asked the smart column "Alice" about the temperature outside and she cheerfully replied that the thermometer was -31 degrees.
I believed Alice, but after a couple of hours, when I went outside from home, I realized that she had deceived me. The temperature rose to -20 degrees. It's just wonderful! I took the dog and went for a walk with her.



The sun is not rising high above the horizon right now. After 11 days, there will be the shortest daylight and only then the length of daylight will begin to increase.
The effect of the presence of the Sun creates a joyful mood. Although the sun does not shine because of the tall trees, the tops of the trees are illuminated by sunlight.
It was about such days that the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin said: "Frost and Sun are a wonderful day".



The dog is ready to walk in any weather. She loves to run and jump in the snow. I have to keep her on a long leash, which I shorten when meeting people. The dog is very active and can jump on a person for joy. But anyone would obviously not like it. During the day, elderly women walk along this road. They like to take walks towards the neighboring village, so I have to control the dog's actions.



In winter, cars rarely drive on this road, especially in cold weather. This road is maintained in good condition for the removal of sand and stone from the quarry. If trucks stop moving towards the quarry, then the road will stop being cleaned. And then even walking on it will be difficult.






By the way, there is a ski track along the road in the forest. I even met two skiers before the day the frosts came to us. I offered my wife a skiing trip that day, but she said we would do it another time.
Maybe she can do it next weekend. I won't be in our village by then. Like a bird, I like to fly to warmer climes in winter. This is not a joke, it just so happens that the company I work for takes us to some interesting place for Christmas. We liked flying to Europe, but now the road there is closed.






I walked the dog for about an hour and walked three and a half kilometers. During this time, clouds appeared in the sky and the Sun hid behind them. In the evening, a light light snow began to fall. So the frosts are over.
