Greetings Hive!

It's that special time of the week again to showcase celebrated posts about architecture and design, broadcasting from various locations around the world. As part of our weekly curation process, we gladly promote outstanding publications that align with our community's primary advocacy of elevating architecture and design with the Hive blockchain.

We are Architecture+Design, your dedicated Hive community covering digital content about Architecture, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Urban Design, and Environmental Design.

For this week's report, we're truly delighted to present to you our 61st Edition featuring our top 3 publications highlighting an iconic concert hall from the USA, an incredible heritage of ancient Roman engineering from Spain, and a spectacular Cathedral from Argentina.

Don't forget to also check out our "Runner-Up" entries for their remarkable contributions.

Our Champions for the Week:

(from March 28 - April 3, 2022)

The exterior curves were originally intended to be clad in limestone but as budgets tightened, the cladding was changed to stainless steel with a matte finish which is now the hall's identity. The thin metal panels allowed for more curvature and could be structurally unattached from the ground. The Founder’s Room and Children’s Amphitheater were initially designed with polished mirror-like panels but it was changed due to glare caused by sunlight reflected on the surfaces.

Salted fish, fabrics, sherry and Malaga wines were a favourite with the Romans. Many of the merchants who travelled between distant lands took advantage of this and visited Medina as it was an urban centre well known for its many products in vogue at the time. Such as artists and art workshops. The pottery of the area was highly valued, the busts and sculptures of the master craftsmen, the embroidery and jewellery. Making Medina a great place of interest. That is why in a small village of not many inhabitants we can find a great historical legacy.

The facade was designed in 1822 by the French Próspero Catelin and Pedro Benoit, its inspiration came from the French Bourbon palace and although it looks more like a Greek temple than a cathedral, it is thanks to its symmetry and sublimity typical of the neoclassical style that calls so much the Attention, you can also see many references to religion, such as the 12 pillars on the façade, which represent the 12 apostles who accompanied and then preached the word of Christ.
