personas, situaciones y cualquier cosa
que me empujara hacia abajo.
De inicio mi razón llamó a esa actitud egoísmo.
Hoy se llama… Amor Propio
Interesting proposal, every time I go into your initiatives @rosahidalgo I discover things that I thought I had discovered, so I begin to feel them unveiled again in a different light or with a different look. Reading several times your publication I can perceive that: self-love is to recognize that one deserves love and care and nevertheless must make sure to receive it. We can practice this in various ways, such as making healthy choices in our body, mind and spirit, building healthy boundaries in personal relationships of any kind and I would add a positive self-worth.
A good self-esteem is often confused with self-esteem, which is actually a subjective evaluation of oneself, one's abilities, strengths, knowledge and so on. Unlike self-love which involves an attitude of compassion, devotion and acceptance, even when facing adversity or making mistakes.
Self-love gives us freedom, it makes us love ourselves for who we are, for how we are without relating to the skills we have and achievements we have obtained. No matter the expectations about the behavior we can have, no matter what happens we will love ourselves free of pressures from ourselves or the environment. We feel good being with ourselves, working on continuing to grow without the need for the acceptance or company of others, which if it comes is obviously welcome but is not a condition for the personal fulfillment of each one.
Criticism can sometimes intervene on our personal valuation, never on our self-love, this is a decision we make to love ourselves, independently of what others or the environment express or think.
When you love yourself, you admit who you are, you tolerate your weaknesses, you show yourself at ease with yourself and the importance of you being on the planet occupying a place, approving to perceive yourself objectively. We should not wait to have particular emotions to incite self-love, we do not need to flatter ourselves daily, tell us empty phrases without feeling them as true, as authentic self-truth, what we need to understand is that it is vital and essential to accept everything in us and decide to love ourselves with a mature love that gives us joy in taking care of ourselves.
Each one of us, when we truly love each other, allows us to share ourselves with others, to love them. Loving ourselves leads us to feel the capabilities we have and how to place them at the service of others, makes us more useful and fruitful to what it means to coexist, empathy, discovering things in the look of the other because we have very clear our own. On the other hand, it means the thin line between self-love and selfishness, nobody gives what he/she does not have says a saying, giving ourselves to others keeps us away from being selfish.
When I began to love myself,
I began to get rid of everything that was unhealthy:
people, situations and anything
that pushed me down.
In the beginning my reason called that attitude selfishness.
Today it is called... Self-Love
