Tutorial : How To Install Piwik Real Time Website Analytics on Wordpress

After I installed the WP-Piwik on my wordpress successfully, I want to make a contribution on @utopian-io in installing WP-piwik to the others people that want to control or watch their website activity. The realtime of a wordpress site can be watch by installed wp-piwik, you will see the visitor in real time. The WP_Piwik is a which one of the best wordpress tracking like jetpack, yoast, google analytic dashboard for wp, and wp power stats.

Piwik Definition

Piwik is the real time website analytics that can be installed on a blog site. Piwik website analytic is a tool to analize and monitor the visitor activity on a website like google analytic and others site counter. The Latest version of WP-Piwik plugin is 1.0.19 and the latest version of wordpress at this time is wordpress 4.9.1 . The WP-Piwik compatible to wordpress 4,0 +.

There are a number of plugins available for WordPress that supply Piwik integration, yet Piwik's very own website recommends WP-Piwik. You can download piwik plugin for wordpress on this WP-piwik version 1.0.19 official link. After download the WP-piwik you can installed it by upload manually the downloaded wp-piwik to your wordpress by press the Add New Button then click upload plugin on the plugin page as follow :

How To Download WP-Piwik

1. Visit to your WordPress site as the manager.
2. In the left-hand pane, click Plugins.
   
3. Click Add New.
   
4. Type the WP-Piwik on search bar like this and click OK.
   
5. After displayed WP-Piwik and then click Install .
   
6. After WordPress surfaces setting up the plugin, click Activate Plugin.
   

How to SETTING UP WP-PIWIK on wordpress :

After you install the WP-Piwik plugin, you need to configure it to deal with your Piwik installation. To do this, comply with these actions:

1. Login to your wordpress and go to setting like on the picture below :
   
2. On the Attach to Piwik tab, in the Piwik Mode listing box, pick Self-hosted (PHP API).
3. In the Piwik path message box, kind the directory site where you mounted Piwik (for example,/ home/username/public _ html/piwik, where ** username ** represents your account username).
4. In the Auth token text box, type your Piwik authentication token.
5. Validate the Auto config check box is chosen.
6. Click Save Changes.
   Follow the image below to complete wp-piwik installation from point 2-6.
   
7. Click the Enable Tracking tab then select Default tracking and ** Click Save Changes** like the intruction on the image below :
   
8. To watch Piwik analytic of your site, click Control panel at the left hand panel , and then click WP-Piwik. The Piwik Statistics page appears with visitor in real time, visits over time, visitor map, dashboard, overview, and we also know what visitor operating system. See the Picture below :
   

Remember that, always download the wordpress plugin from official of wordpress to prevent the attacker attack your site which is the plugin infected by the spyware, malware or viruses on the plugin data.
