I refer to it as a Google effect, where Altavista.com types been dominant, but not great product, and when the 2 dudes came along, made a total custom solution from whatever the little resources they had and out performed everybody else in industry.
That's the kind of small garage startups I expect to rise up from nowhere and to lead in next 10 years.
