Some new people moved into one of our rentals. They have indoor pet goats that are Nigerian Dwarf Goats. They are the cutest things, but, since they are goats, they have to wear diapers inside.
The dad of these goats was taking a quick trip to wrap up some loose ends at the last place they lived, so he asked my oldest son and me to help mom diaper the goats each night before bed. Of course, we were willing to help out!
This is Boo and I remember which one she is because she has black on her. She's a sweet girl who loves chips as a treat. She probably weighs about 60 pounds, and she spends most of her day outside on the patio. She doesn't like to get into mud or even eat grass. She is seven years old, I believe. She gets a diaper put on when she goes inside.
My son and I went over to learn how to help diaper the goats for 2 nights before their dad left. They wear adult diaper from PriceSmart (Costco) that are held on by suspenders. The first step is to bring the goats in one at a time using a lasso.
The suspenders are put over Boo's head while she is held in place by dad's legs. She's so used to this, it really isn't a problem! A slit is cut in the diaper so her tail can go out.
Next Boo's hind legs are lifted off the ground so mom can put the diaper on. No need to squeeze her belly, just carefully lift up her legs and the diaper slides on and up!
Her hair is tucked into the diaper so she doesn't get "diaper hair." Ha! Her tail is also pulled out and the diaper gets wiggled into place.
The suspenders are attached to the diaper on the top and bottom. Since they've done this many, many times before, Boo is usually pretty calm and happy, knowing that she's about to head upstairs to bed!
Next the orange diaper extenders are added to ensure that nothing leaks out of the sides. This method really works for keeping everything in the diaper and no mess is made! They have this system down to a science!
After that, Boo is done and is able to walk around inside the house! She wants a little treat before heading to bed for being a good girl while getting on her diaper! This girl is one of dad's babies, the princesses of the house!
