Yes, it's quite the puzzle! Sounds cool, I'll check it out.

No, that's not correct. In traditional PoS, your expected value of staking is directly proportional to your staking amount. The effect of compounding sounds like an issue -- but what you find is that with

This is why I I decided against saying "impossible" and instead "hard if not impossible". :) I'm not 100% certain it is impossible, as there are certainly some clever possibilities

Interestingly enough, its not a problem with PoS! PoS certainly has other problems (e.g., many fail to have effective consensus) but the monopolized entrenchment of leadership isn't fundamental. This issue

So, the "continuous growth" economic property is certainly an interesting one to explore (the most common example being social security), but I don't believe it applies here. Once a system has

When you arrive at this point in the degraded system, enacting change to remove entrenchment would mean that a voter must pick the worst outcome in the decision trees. Unless a collective of voters can

anyx.io supports get_transaction.

Just to clarify: I'm not receiving funding from the SPS right now for my infrastructure -- my proposal is currently under the voting threshold. If you want it funded it needs more votes :)

My preferred term for this type of logic is "derived state" (or derivable). I see @smooth calls it "embedded" which I think is also a fair term, but I still prefer derivable -- because

I'm obviously not arguing about access to ones own garage, I'm talking about access to the public road (which you were excluded from obtaining). Everything is excludable given some amount of effort, so

It was an exaggeration, and sadly you've latched on to that rather than actually address my point. A better example could have been parking a truck in front of your garage door. Just because something

Did you finish reading the wikipedia page you linked? In contrast to the hammer, In contrast, non-rival goods may be consumed by one consumer without preventing simultaneous consumption by others Can you

Its not a benefit for public nodes, its a huge detriment. Its not possible to cache the large request, it must be parsed and unpacked. REST absolutely can match the "efficiency" by utilizing

The wiki page you link to suggests "... quasi-public goods because excludability is possible", which in my opinion fits the bill for both read and write access to blockchains. They can, in the

I'll consider it. It's still a ways away from being finished, and I do not have much free time at the moment, so it's hard to quantify a proposal for it.

You disagree that it's ideological, then you give an point that ignores my last comment entirely, then another point that is subjective and not quantifiable. It sounds to me like you have ideology at heart

The hyper anarcho-capitalist mentality that often comes along to the crypto space seems to greatly take for granted the availability of public nodes and doesn't realize they are public goods. Then they

Not all api endpoints are created equal. Not all nodes support full account_history. For example, I know the minnnowsupport node doesn't support it; they sometimes forward these requests to me. Steemit

because in general parameters do mean queries, they are not static resources, they are dynamic API results. Some do work as plain URIs, like as this has no parameters. the /v1/ variant is backwards compatible

Example rpc call: curl -sd '{"jsonrpc":"2.0", "method":"account_history_api.get_transaction",
