I understand what you feel, I lived a similar experience in my youth when I worked in a financial institution for 7 years, there I climbed positions, but due to certain circumstances that did not seem appropriate I requested my vacation, to meditate about it because the situation was untenable, after much reflection I drafted my letter of resignation, when I returned from vacation, I presented my resignation to my immediate boss, who said you showed me what you are worth, now that you are promoted as supervisor you are leaving, my answer was yes, I stayed to show you who I am, I already did, the promotion does not matter to me, I need to seek new horizons, like you I experienced a unique sense of freedom and well being.

Maybe destiny has a good job for you, as in my case I found the job I like, I have 23 years working as a teacher, 18 of them with early education, I am currently coordinator of student welfare, I am satisfied with the achievement obtained, I wish you luck in finding a new job.
