My dad has been finding arrowheads since he was 16 years old INCLUDING CLOVIS POINTS. He has what is probably the largest collection in Wisconsin outside of a museum. Authentic of course. BUT somewhere along the way he picked up a skill called flint knapping or basically making arrowheads. He has fashioned his own tools including some from deer antlers. He heat treats different types of flint in order to obtain a nice pink or gray when hes making a new arrowhead. I ve told him this is a skill not many have and should be shared. Unfortunately he is not a social person. Every now and then he will take someone who is interested in arrowhead hunting, to a field and show them how to look for them. My dad is pretty darn amazing if I must say so myself.
