Hello HIVE friends, wherever you are, I hope you are all healthy and happy, so you can go about your daily activities smoothly, and I hope you all have a pleasant day.
I've discovered a place in downtown Sabang where history and tranquility blend together. You can learn about history while exploring and enjoying the calming atmosphere. That's what I felt at Sabang Ria Park. Here, I not only took a relaxing stroll while enjoying the park's distinctive, tranquil atmosphere, but also felt drawn to memories of the past and a slow, enjoyable experience of Sabang.
So, please continue to follow my simple blog to see some pictures of Sabang Ria Park, as well as short articles about my personal experiences.
From Sabang City Park, I continued my journey to the nearby Sabang Ria Park. As soon as I entered the area, I was immediately greeted by a large yellow sign on a grassy hill that read Sabang Ria Park. I personally believe this is a relaxing place you should visit if you ever vacation on Pulau Weh, due to its long history.
My friends...
This park was originally called Taman Raja (King's Park) because during World War II, it served as a relaxing spot, especially for colonial officials.
However, over time, the park's name changed, and it was finally named Taman Ria, reflecting the renewed spirit and optimism of the Sabang community today.
Now let's explore the Taman Ria area. From a height, right next to the main road, I can see an open area in the center of the park. I see a large circle of stones surrounded by grass and trees. I suspect this area was once used for events or performances. However, now the Sabang City Government has transformed it into a place for children to play, tourists to take photos, and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the park in the heart of Sabang City, as I did.
Although this park has undergone various changes, one of which is its name, as I mentioned above, it still maintains its rich history, bearing witness to the development of Sabang City over time, and of course, with its serene atmosphere and beautiful views.
Then I started to explore and go deeper into the Park area, now I immediately found the atmosphere had changed, there I found several large trees that I think are decades old with strong roots, wide branches shading the Path and of course the land is green there are also small stairs and lampposts in the area, I think even though it looks a little haunted but the tranquility provided here is truly second to none especially since it is located in the middle of the city where tranquility is very difficult to find and this park is one of the best places to enjoy the tranquility of Sabang City which of course has a long history.
One of the reasons why I highly recommend this park for you to visit if you ever have a vacation to Weh Island is because of its strategic location, which is in the city center and next to Sabang City Park. If you want to enjoy a different atmosphere with stunning views, then you only need to travel for about 2 minutes which you can walk to get to Sabang City Park which presents and focuses on views that will amaze you, in contrast to this amusement park which provides a calm vibe with its long history.
This is what makes this amusement park different from other parks in Sabang City, from this park, I can learn history while exploring the park area, in the park you can see the Japanese bunker monument that I found in the Taman Ria area which is shaped like a Torii gate and the color has faded over time, but here we are reminded that Sabang was once a witness to the history of World War II and Sabang is an important port so we find many traces of Japanese heritage on the island and one of the places to find relics of World War II is the Taman Ria area where I can see several Japanese bunkers from World War II.
So, those are some pictures and my short article about one of the parks located in the center of Sabang City. In closing, I can say that you can find history and serenity in one place. Here, you can learn history while exploring and enjoying the calming atmosphere of Sabang Ria Park. In this area, we are not only invited to walk around and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, but we are also invited to remember the past, appreciate the ancient trees, and enjoy the tranquility of Sabang. So, if you ever vacation on Pulau Weh, then don't forget to stop in Sabang City, specifically at the amusement park and feel the serenity.
Well, my friends, those are some pictures and a short article from me on this blog about Sabang Ria Park. I hope you all enjoy and are entertained by what I share. I also express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have taken the time to view and read my blog to the end.
