Venezuela is facing economic and political issues the modern world has not seen for a long time. Inflation is out of control and there is a mass exodus occurring in search of food and the economic prosperity/ security the people once had.
My father was born and raised in Venezuela and immigrated to Canada in his 20's, where I was born. Growing up, he would often take my brother and I on trips back home over Christmas break to see our relatives. This video is from the last time I saw them. As I sit in comfort with a roof over my head and food on my plate, I watch this video and am reminded of how lucky I am to be where I am and pray for better days in Venezuela.
