Not that I am defending the diamonds that monkeywrenched the process, they were, after all, wages not paid to the peasants.
Those diamonds wouldn't have been there had the split of the profits been more favorable to the people tilling the fields.
But, like crapitalism, and it's predecessor mercantilism, 'economies' always end the same way.

A simple way that anybody can do that is to hoard your coins.
The fed buys coins at face value from the mint.
