I had an idea about combating downvotes or redesigning the whole system of DV.
It is rarely that genius can be improved upon.
Rather than changing the math, we should change ourselves, imo.
Instead of the powerful living off the backs of the weak, they will have to wait for the crumbs that fall from the tables of the weak.
I have no doubt that newly empowered poor people will take pity on the recently impoverished and see to it that they don't starve.
Poor people have always been willing to help the less fortunate, while the powerful tell them to get jobs and work harder.
If things are to change to something that might make the game attractive to regular users and not just the whales and the sycophants voted by them.
Essentially it needs communities to be thriving.
More users solves most of our current issues.
Right now the cliques are so small that most people leave because the snobs run them off.
Then if they read something that doesn't agree with them (
@acidyo) they avoid it.
I was here in Aug '16 when the current group of snobs, the ones that haven't been run off, told me that my content wouldn't make it on hive, you mentioned one of them, and so did I.
Hive is a long game, once the whales get diluted the snobs will get overwhelmed, then we might find hive's true value.
As long as the current insider cabal makes their roi at the expense of the newbs, I wouldn't expect anything different than what we have had for the last four years.
Doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result has been said to be the definition of insanity.
Seems some of us are crazy.
The market recognizes that, and acts accordingly.
