I picked up a box of nickels the other day, I have yet to go into a bank and ask for nickels without the immediate question, 'What do you do with them?', so I mentioned that they were next in line for debasement.
Pre-1982 pennies are .044usd each in scrap copper.
Nickels are ~147usd for a 100usd box in nickel and copper.
And, when we go back to sound money, all the change should assume the new value, so it's a win/win situation.
Otherwise, I only have to wait for nickels to stop circulating, or take them to mexico, and it will be legal to melt them for scrap.
