I am not saying that is the only issue.
It was more a historical reference.
I think we can be fairly certain that 6% getting dumped in its entirety during the course of a year would not tank the price the way the price has tanked.
I have no proof, but my guess is traders short us on rises because we always go back.
It's been one of the most reliable metrics in the hive.

Until there is enough newb stake to push the ninjamine, and ninjamine adjacent, stake out, this is what we get.
It's why all those people left all those years ago, things have not changed, this has been the proffer all along.
The trubeliebers just didn't want to accept it, I know I didn't until long after those people left and things steadily got worse.
Many of them told me, but I was still in denial.
We were launched by an insular group of folks that are not very welcoming to outsiders, perhaps with good reason, but not all the investors get the same memos.

A rising price soothes many aches and pains.
But, until this power shift happens, all we can expect is more pump and dumps, imo.
Even tanking the price is no guarantee that the problems leave, they can just hibernate until, 'Surprise, we're back!'
IF the plan is a 50 year plan, all this makes perfect sense.
We are 10 in, and it is just now looking like the code is ready for mass adoption.
Before this, massive outlays for server memory was a real limiting factor.
Iirc, the whole thing was launched in memory and slowly was coded to load rocksdb.
Layer 2 could moonshot us, IF Reggie Middleton ever gets his patent enforced.
Folks will come to the hive just to stick it to him.
(I'm not sure how layer 2 will get treated, but if we hurry up it will be a done deal.)
On a 50 year scale, we are doing just fine, iyam.
