It's likely that you are already in the discord, that is the 'official' one.
I should probably update the template on these, it is getting pretty long in the tooth, but since it is a burn post, I probably won't.
There was a time, when folks thought that mass adoption was here, that curating memes from the web to keep folks up to date on the trends would have had value, but with an audience potential in the hundreds, and in reality less than 30, rewards should be burned, imo.
Downvoting ideas one disagrees with was never broadly acceptable, folks did it, but the crowd did, and should, imo, frown upon it.
They mostly don't put their own rewards on the line, but they do talk against it in the private places.
Not voting something you disagree with is the proper conduct.
Downvoting it is taxing it and necessarily inflammatory.
Of course, plagiarism and copy pasta needs to be flagged.
Most of the folks that downvoted over ideas have left.
Now it is mostly old farmers/spammers, that did something that got them blacklisted, making big noise.
Those that take the time to research the depth of the case quickly find this history, in most cases.
There are cases where good people were chased off, but they are few.
The worst one of the bunch, that I still don't name, was gotten rid of at the fork to hive.
Until that time I really had to bite my tongue, but once he was gone, I knew it was game on.
And, since that time, I have been free to say pretty much whatever crossed my mind without getting crushed by a whale.
That wasn't the case before the fork.
In fact, this conversation couldn't have happened until that fella was gone.
We would have been gay pron/toilet pics/flagged to oblivion.
And folks wonder why we have the rep as an ungrateful, toxic mob.
100k's saw in the beginning what was being 'tolerated' and rightfully said f' that.
So, now here we are continuing to make the best of things as best we can.
