In case you weren't aware, curation rewards on posts less than 24 hours old are linear, you get 50% of your vote's value in curation rewards, but on posts older than 24 hours a portion of your curation rewards are given to the people that voted before you.
The penalty on day 6 is quite severe.
This is to encourage curators to find 'good' content faster.
