Few weeks ago the split if Steem was initiated which results to the creation of Hive blockchain. Through this action, all steem accounts was replicated which includes all data, contents, and assets with it and are now residing in the Hive blockchain.

In my case, I'm now holding 2 coins (Steem & Hive) while some might not due to the "Hive exclusion list". For me, it's twice the fun since my money is doubled without any effort from my part, it's free internet money.

Another good thing about the split is the new social platform which means another avenue to monetize my contents. Again, it's twice as fun as before. The feeling is almost the same as when the Steem-Engine tokens were created. During that time, I received PAL, Steem-Leo, Sports...etc for free which I sold eventually early on and I'm glad I did because most of them have far less value than before. Some of those Steem-Engine tokens have no value at all because very few people believed on it and very few adapted it.

It happened before, fork after fork of blockchains seeking for something that they believe in. Fork happens when someone believe that their should be a better blockchain than the original blockchain. However, it seemed that whenever we do that the user base tend to shrink since the community is now divided into smaller community.

Since Hive & Steem are exactly the same, it seemed that it's competing against each other it terms of value and adaptability.

I can't really tell what the future holds for Hive and Steem however I'm rooting for both chains to come up with solutions that can bring blockchain and cryptocurrency to the masses.
