Mi Proceso Creativo (Es/En)

Después de varios posts variados, esta vez voy a cumplir una promesa que hice en mi primer post: compartir con ustedes mi proceso creativo. La semana pasada me reuní con unos amigos de trabajo y hablamos de proyectos y eventos futuros. Así fue como me enteré de que ya están trabajando en la organización del evento cultural más relevante del pueblo donde vivo para el año 2024. En mi experiencia laboral tengo una trayectoria no muy larga pero sí variada de participación en estos eventos culturales desde diferentes ángulos. Sin embargo, como anteriormente realicé trabajos de diseño para dicho evento, tomé el reto personal de hacer una propuesta de diseño para el mismo.

After several varied posts, this time I'm going to keep a promise I made in my first post: to share with you my creative process. Last week I met with some work friends and we talked about future projects and events. That's how I found out that they are already working on the organization of the most relevant cultural event in the town where I live for the year 2024. In my work experience I have a not very long but varied trajectory of participation in these cultural events from different angles. However, as I previously did design work for this event, I took the personal challenge of making a design proposal for it.

Así que, ya en casa me puse manos a la obra, Revisé referentes en la aplicación por excelencia para referencias: Pinterest. Y partiendo de los referentes comencé a bocetear. Sin embargo, teniendo en cuenta lo que quería lograr me percaté de que necesitaba una fotografía de la escultura del libertador que está en la plaza Bolívar del pueblo, ya que quería incluir elementos representativos del municipio.

So, already at home I got down to work, I reviewed references in the application par excellence for references: Pinterest. And based on the references I started sketching. However, taking into account what I wanted to achieve I realized that I needed a photograph of the sculpture of the liberator that is in the Bolivar square of the town, as I wanted to include representative elements of the municipality.

Al día siguiente, bien temprano, me tomé la molestia de ir a tomar mi fotografía.

Early the next morning, I took the trouble to go and take my picture.

Para la paleta de colores tuve que hacer una pequeña búsqueda en las tendencias de Coolors, una página web que genera paletas de colores aleatorias, para encontrar una que se conformara por los colores amarillo, azul, rojo y verde que son los colores de la bandera del municipio. Sin embargo, no podía usar los colores intensos de la bandera para esta composición, no era lo que tenía en mente, así que esta paleta en colores pastel estaba genial para mí.

For the color palette I had to do a little search on Coolors trends, a website that generates random color palettes, to find one that was made up of the yellow, blue, red and green colors that are the colors of the municipality's flag. However, I couldn't use the intense colors of the flag for this composition, it wasn't what I had in mind, so this pastel palette was great for me.

Lo siguiente era la tipografía, crucial para cualquier composición. Quería que la tipografía fuera una tipografía que siguiera las tendencias actuales, por eso elegí Potential, una tipografía con serifa, robusta, elegante y con un estilo de antaño.

Next was the typography, crucial for any layout. I wanted the typography to be a typeface that followed current trends, so I chose Potential, a serif typeface, robust, elegant and with an old-fashioned style.

También utilicé Montserrat, una tipografía de palo seco, robusta, con mucha presencia y seriedad, que era mi favorita.

I also used Montserrat, a dry stick typeface, robust, with a lot of presence and seriousness, which was my favorite.

Teniendo todo esto listo, comencé a trabajar en la composición. Empecé por el fondo, que era crucial que fuera azul, representando el cielo y el lago que forman parte crucial de la historia municipal.

Having all this ready, I started working on the composition. I started with the background, which was crucial to be blue, representing the sky and the lake that are a crucial part of the municipal history.

Con ayuda de mi Wacom Intuos S, una tableta gráfica que me permite dibujar con precisión y fluidez, comencé a ilustrar la estatua antes mencionada fotografiada por mí en horas de la mañana.

With the help of my Wacom Intuos S, a graphic tablet that allows me to draw with precision and fluidity, I began to illustrate the aforementioned statue photographed by me in the morning hours.

Por supuesto, una vez ilustrado el contorno de la estatua, hice algunas correcciones de proporción que tenía la fotografía por la perspectiva de la misma, gracias a la ilusión óptica que desplaza al objeto superior del centro del inferior. / Of course, once the outline of the statue was illustrated, I made some proportion corrections that the photograph had due to the perspective of the statue, thanks to the optical illusion that displaces the upper object from the center of the lower one.

Una vez listo el sujeto de nuestra composición, procedí a definir el texto que lo iba a acompañar. Utilizando las tipografías en el orden jerárquico que establecí para ellas, obtuve este resultado.

Once the subject of our composition was ready, I proceeded to define the text that would accompany it. Using the typographies in the hierarchical order I established for them, I obtained this result.

Un resultado que debía organizarse para armonizar con nuestro sujeto, claro está.

A result that had to be organized to harmonize with our subject, of course.

Hasta ahora, el resultado me gusta, pero le faltan elementos cruciales para la composición, como los aviones representativos de la bandera del municipio que nos recuerdan a la base aérea más grande de Venezuela que, por supuesto, alberga nuestro pueblo.

So far, I like the result, but it lacks crucial elements for the composition, such as the airplanes representing the flag of the municipality that remind us of the largest air base in Venezuela, which, of course, houses our town.

El siguiente elemento fue, por decisión propia, un elemento que realza los aspectos del municipio (sin mencionar las olas de calor que hemos sufrido estos últimos meses): el sol.

The next element was, by choice, an element that enhances the aspects of the municipality (not to mention the heat waves we have suffered these last few months): the sun.

Composición hasta ahora perfecta para mí, que solo necesita una definición de sus límites para establecer su espacio dentro de nuestro lienzo. Y que convenientemente usa el último color de nuestra paleta de colores.

Composition so far perfect for me, which only needs a definition of its boundaries to establish its space within our canvas. And which conveniently uses the last color of our color palette.

Listo, eso sería todo para mí. Solo le añadiré una textura para darle un toque a la composición y con esto daré por terminado mi trabajo aquí.
