What this illustrates is with centralized platforms like this that there is a bear so to speak and, if you poke it, you risk being banned.

By poking the bear, we could mean a number of things.

• Being obnoxious (This is subjective to the audience)
• Roasting people

But the most unsettling one is traversing the boundaries of the Overton window. This should not be taboo. People should be permitted to challenge the boundaries of what is politically accepted. For example, questioning authoritarianism in CCP China for example.

On the faux free speech platforms, like the invisible boundaries in video games, often the userbase will not be aware of them until they are reached.

On Hive, we don't have to worry about that so much albeit there had been some degree of ideological downvoting / gatekeeping but not sure how prevalent that is these days.

Keep your eye open for the next one the conservatives are talking about. It's called Trust Social. Suspect it will be more of the same.

The word we have for platforms like Parler and Gettr are controlled opposition platforms. They allow milquetoast dissent but not really anything with teeth if you know what I mean.
