So, this feller tried to pull a fast one us.
I am member of quite a few religious groups on Facebook with a number being debate / discussion among various religious sects. So, we get a lot of tongue-in-cheek memes, trolls and everything else you'd expect on the internet.
Not that it needs to be explained but the thrust of this meme, referencing to the first book of Corinthian's chapter three, is that other sects of Christianity follow the teaching of other men rather than Jesus.
The passage in question:
1 Corinthians 3:4-5 KJVS
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? [5] Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
First of all, one does not need to be member of any particular sect to believe the gospel which itself is a set of intellectual propositions.
It is afterall, something that people believe with their mind rather than the hocus pocus drivel that prosperity preachers and others would have you believe.
By examining the doctrine held by a sect, we are able to draw inferences about their gospel and whether it is biblical. The doctrine may be extrapolated from creeds, confessions, catechisms and other material. Then, you may learn that...
The Devil: Do stuff to be saved.
My recommendation would be to seek the gospel rather than a sect. Be eager for truth and fellowship will come. It is nice to find belonging with a group but it is exponentially more important to find the truth.
