In a previous post I commented that music has that power, to take our thoughts elsewhere, to another place, to bring some memory to our mind, and of many other things, so this time I will make a brief summary about one excellent band and excellent solo composer Steven Wilson & Porcupine Tree.

En un post anterior coment茅 que la m煤sica tiene ese poder, de llevar nuestros pensamientos a otro lado, a otro lugar, de traer alg煤n recuerdo a nuestra mente, y de muchas otras cosas, por lo que en esta ocasi贸n har茅 un breve resumen sobre una excelente banda y un excelente compositor solista Steven Wilson & Porcupine Tree.
Steven Wilson Born in London on November 3, 1967, he is a musician known for being the backbone of the Progressive Rock group Porcupine Tree. Since Porcupine Tree is his preferred project, it is worth highlighting other works that make up his extensive discography: Blackfield, No-Man, Bass Comunion or I.E.M; and He has also collaborated with other bands such as Opeth; where he works as a producer and sound engineer. In the not too distant future, Steven Wilson together with Mikael 脜kerfeldt, (Vocalist and Guitarist) from Opeth and Mike Portnoy (drummer) from Dream Theater, will develop a record project, the style of which the three musicians are not yet very clear for.

Siendo Porcupine Tree, el proyecto que tiene como preferencia, caben destacar otros trabajos que configuran su extensa discograf铆a: Blackfield, No-Man, Bass Comunion o I.E.M; y Adem谩s ha colaborado con otras bandas como Opeth; donde ejerce labores de productor e ingeniero de sonido. En un futuro no demasiado lejano, Steven Wilson junto a Mikael 脜kerfeldt, (Vocalista y Guitarrista) de Opeth y Mike Portnoy (baterista) de Dream Theater, elaborar谩n un proyecto discogr谩fico, que a煤n no est谩 muy claro el estilo para esto los tres m煤sicos.
Porcupine Tree:
Rock band formed in Hemel Hempstead, England in 1987. This band is the most successful project, of the musician Steven Wilson of growing popularity. Featuring a mix of psychedelic rock, progressive rock, ambient music and more recently Heavy metal; They have developed pieces of music that are quite impressive for their diversity and for the distinctive quality of sound in their recordings. Wilson, is a self-taught musician who loves various musical genres, who began with the project as a comic parody of the progressive groups of the 70s; In parallel to another of his multiple projects, No-Man, he has worked with a good number of musicians and artists, among which are Marillion, Opeth and Dream Theater. Porcupine Tree is included within progressive rock, although Steven Wilson has expressed his disagreement with this label: Porcupine Tree's music is very very simple; there is nothing complex in it, the complex is in the production, the complexity is that the albums are firmly built; all the work is creating the texture and the sound and making it sound good. There is nothing complicated about our music at all. And that's why I don't like it when people describe us as progressive rock. I don't think we are a progressive band; I think we're just a rock band I think that what leads people to call us progressive is the way the songs are produced.

Banda de Rock formada en Hemel Hempstead, Inglaterra en 1987. Esta banda es el proyecto m谩s exitoso, del m煤sico Steven Wilson de creciente popularidad. Con una mezcla de rock psicod茅lico, rock progresivo, m煤sica ambiental y m谩s recientemente Heavy metal; han desarrollado piezas musicales bastante impresionantes por su diversidad y por la calidad distintiva del sonido en sus grabaciones. Wilson, es un m煤sico autodidacta amante de diversos g茅neros musicales, que comenz贸 con el proyecto como una parodia c贸mica de los grupos progresivos de los a帽os 70; en paralelo a otro de sus m煤ltiples proyectos, No-Man, ha trabajado con una buena cantidad de m煤sicos y artistas, entre los que destacan Marillion, Opeth o Dream Theater. Porcupine Tree se engloba dentro del rock progresivo, aunque Steven Wilson ha expresado su disconformidad con esta etiqueta: La m煤sica de Porcupine Tree es muy muy simple; no hay nada complejo en ella, lo complejo est谩 en la producci贸n, la complejidad est谩 en que los 谩lbumes est谩n firmemente construidos; todo el trabajo consiste en crear la textura y el sonido, y hacer que suene bien. No hay nada de complicado en nuestra m煤sica en absoluto Y por eso, es por lo que no me gusta que la gente nos describa como rock progresivo. No creo que seamos una banda progresiva; creo que s贸lo somos una banda de rock. Creo que lo que lleva a la gente a darnos la categor铆a de progresiva es la manera en la que las canciones est谩n producidas.

Although Steven Wilson says, that the band Porcupine Tree, is not Progressive Rock, its sound is of a progressive music environment; Perhaps the band will seek out new sounds and change styles over the years.
