As much as I doubt a lot of what the governments of the world tell us you have to treat conspiracy nuts with the same scepticism to be objective and then if you do that you're left not believing anything and in a circular loop of paranoia OR picking whatever sounds nicest to you as true and ignoring or dismissing anything else that may contradict your world view.
In theory scientists without an agenda should be people we trust above someone who is not trained in that specific field but if anyone has stocks of pharmaceuticals or is on the payroll for pharmaceuticals as an expert advisor then their decisions are going to be in their own best interests first.
And it would be naïve to think experts in pharma don't invest in pharma. Or politicians who time and time again prove they care about themselves first
It's tricky to navigate and may be best to not believe anything and wait for more information
