Gems: Introducing the Gems Community Program
How to earn your spot in the Gems Token Launch

Community is essential. A little over 10 days ago, early Gems enthusiasts suggested we create the Gems Telegram, and so we did. Imagine how excited we were, considering we’ve done little to no marketing outside of the Gems Blog, when our Telegram toppled 850 members in a mere 240 hours. This begged the question: “How did everyone hear about us?”

Community members who care about and are looking forward to using Gems are sharing our mission: whether it’s Manuel — who created a 43 slide powerpoint about the pros and many cons of Amazon Mechanical Turk and suggested Gems as the alternative or dozens of Gems community members who shared with their peers.

These early active community members, and more like them, are why we can dive headfirst into completing the Gems Alpha instead of focusing on marketing to other potential users of the Gems Protocol.

One question we get often in the Gems Telegram relates to the topic of a token launch. Without even announcing a token sale we’ve had an overwhelming amount of expressed interest. With this in mind, we must ensure that those who partake in our eventual pre-sale and subsequent token launch are those who are contributing to the Gems ecosystem and utilizing the Gems Protocol, and we’ve devised a way to do so: The Gems Community Program.
The Gems Community Program is the way to secure a spot in the Gems Pre-Sale/Token Launch.

Join the Gems Telegram. Demonstrate that you will use the Gems Protocol and contribute to its ecosystem.
Help us grow: Share the Gems mission with others who can use the Gems Protocol. The possibilities are endless —but here are a few:

a) invite people to the Gems Telegram
b) write a blog post
c) make a youtube video
d) drive constructive discussions in the Telegram and beyond
e) your own innovative idea
  1. Let us know how you helped in this quick form.

The Gems Protocol, Gems Platform, and subsequent DApps built on top of the Gems Protocol can help so many workers and requesters, and we feel that our peers should know about it.

We’re so thankful to our growing community — thank you.

With this post, we have answered one large question: yes, there will be a pre-sale. The pre-sale metrics will be announced over the next few weeks, and the Gems Community form must be filled out by January 8th. Please stay active in the Gems Telegram for further updates. For any questions or inquiries, please feel free to reach out to me directly: @RoryOReilly on Telegram.

Thank you once again for being part of Gems.

Gems Modules

Gems modules are interfaces built on top of the Gems Platform that miners (that’s our term for workers) will use to perform tasks. The Gems team will release reusable UI/UX open-source modules as well as reusable open-source components of modules that will allow anyone to build other modules effortlessly.

We will work hands-on with early requesters, UI/UX researchers, and designers to determine how to provide interfaces and components that are simultaneously intuitive, customizable, and encompassing for current and future micro task requirements. Because these interfaces and components will be open-source, outside contributors will also be able to help iterate and create more UI/UX resources to suit more diverse needs, potentially being incentivized throughout the process.

Gems components allow requesters to efficiently create micro tasks as simple or as complicated as they wish.

Workers will reap immense benefits with this new open-source, reusable design: the workflow will be streamlined because there will be more consistent UI/UXs and because the tasks will have well-designed, intuitive interfaces developed through rigorous research and iteration. This has a twofold effect: firstly, workers will be able to complete tasks more quickly, allowing them to complete more tasks in a given timeframe and earn more money; and secondly, the tasks will be easier to comprehend and therefore have a higher task accuracy and make Gems accessible to a larger potential worker population.

Gems, unlike current centralized platforms, only sees benefit in having a fully open source project.

We, as a decentralized platform where we take no ongoing network cut, believe that having open-source, reusable components in the Gems environment will help promote better network effects within the Gems Platform. Our goal is to replace the inefficient current marketplaces with one which allows for miners to earn more per hour, requesters to use resources more constructively, and wasted time to be eliminated on both fronts.

My thoughts:
I like the time - comprised of many former ivy-leaguers

I like the idea - it's fairly unique and solves a real problem and inefficiency

I love open source projects - that is a big factor in deciding whether or not I want to invest long term.in a project

I love love their marketing strategy. It may create some shills but they are saving massively in marketing costs and use those savings to put into development.

Overall I think this is a very legit and investable project
Just my opinion not advise DYOR
