During these two days the number of patients suspected of being infected with coronavirus has increased in our area, this has been triggered by the loosening of partial lockdown rules imposed by local governments. In the previous lockdown, only a small proportion of professions were permitted including the police and health workers. Likewise at night, after 9:00 p.m people are prohibited outside the home.
But since this week the rules are a little loose, curfews have been stopped. As well as community activities during the day, the more crowded shops are open and the coffee shop which is the center for gathering people in our area has also been allowed to be reopened by government. But the government still applies social distancing in everyday community relations. But many people are no longer compliant with these rules.
The government relaxed the partial lockdown rule because last week no increase was found in people suspected of being infected with coronavirus. But with the loosening of this partial lockdown rule, patients suspected of being infected with coronavirus are increasing, especially in this month when quite a number of overseas people return to their hometown in our area.
Like yesterday, during the afternoon shift, I did a chest radiology examination (thorax) for some patients suspected of being infected with coronavirus. We work by using a complete, though simple, personal protective device consisting of hazmat clothes, eye glasses, face coverings, N95 masks, boots and gloves as shown image above.
At present some of us are depleting the supply of personal protective equipment, because we have not yet received personal protective equipment from the central government. We are very worried about this problem, because if there are no more personal protective equipment, then we will refuse to conduct an examination of patients suspected of being infected with coronavirus. Because if we force it, our lives will be threatened.
