The election itself wasn’t actually hacked. Russians were responsible for the leaked emails from the DNC and from Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton’s camp. The very emails that confirmed that they rigged their choice for Clinton over Sanders, thus not caring what The People wanted. No federal agency has stated that these were fake.
The Washington Post reported that the Obama administration had known about Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election since that summer, while confirming that hacking efforts had no impact on the vote counts.
