It鈥檚 about to be 2am. I鈥檓 sleeping in the couch of my office at home, the same couch my girlfriend sits on when she pays me a visit while I work. In sleeping here, or at least preparing to sleep, because I have to wake up in 2-3 hours to continue working on what has felt like a gargantuan odyssey.
A month and a half ago I took a side gig. I鈥檓 building a website for a group of Psychoanalysts. They want to start their own magazine and I鈥檓 their go-to solution for everything tech related. In fact I鈥檓 that person for any Psychoanalyst in 5-6 states of central Mexico.
My mother in law is some sort of Leader of Opinion in the sector, so pretty much everyone in the niche knows about me as the crypto, tech and IT guy.
Anyway, this group reached out to me and, being the greedy, hustling bastar that I am, I didn鈥檛 say no to their respuesta, even though I knew I鈥檝e been up to my neck regarding available hours during my day - I mean, my girlfriend has to pay me couch visits during the day even though we live together, because I barely spend quality time with her.
She gets it, she gets the hustle, she understands the grind, and I definitely consider her an ally in our road to financial independence and economic freedom. She sees clear as day that every hour spent generating money today means we鈥檒l retire one day earlier than what we鈥檝e forecasted. Add and stack all those hours and who knows, perhaps we will get to retire before we are 40. I will still work a ton, but I will do it for fun.
That鈥檚 probably one of the best takeaways I鈥檝e absorbed from @theycallmedan. He鈥檚 clear about his goals, and he made sure that his wife was on board with them and fully supported the vision and mission. I鈥檓 pretty lucky my girlfriend is the same.
So yeah, I took the gig that I was in no position whatsoever to accept, and I鈥檝e been paying the consequences since then. Even though I charge them a fren rate of 40 bucks the hour, I haven鈥檛 really had found the time to get this shit done, until this Sunday that I managed to get off the hook from a family event and I spent all day dealing with html, css and javascript, but I didn鈥檛 finish.
But I mean, how could I have said no to this side gig? A true hustler always tries to juggle more than what he鈥檚 physically able to do, so it was just a matter of when, not if I would be able to finish the project.
So, I spent from 7pm to 2am working on this magazine and man, it鈥檚 almost ready.
I could鈥檝e finish this today, but I鈥檓 no longer 20 years old and if I don鈥檛 get some sleep tonight I鈥檓 going to be rekt tomorrow. A man needs his sleep, man.
I鈥檓 going to be able to cover my monthly expenses with this. That means all my other income will go to buying more bitcoin, collateralizing it, getting a loan, and buying alts and farming airdrops with those liquids.
But man, I could鈥檝e finished this a month ago had I been more organized (and believe me, I am) and working my priorities in a better way.
Either way, I鈥檓 gonna go to sleep. But one thing is certain, I鈥檓 glad I am no longer procrastinating like a true hustler.
